Michelle Obama in Alexander McQueen

At the state dinner with the Chinese President, Michelle Obama wore a stunning Alexander McQueen dress. Although there has been some debate as to why she did not chose an American or Chinese-American designer to wear to the dinner, I can not understand how anyone could have anything negative to say about the gorgeous gown. Designed by Alexander McQueen's successor Sarah Burton, the dress in flawless and looks absolutely breathtaking on Michelle Obama. I don't follow politics too much, but I am so happy to see a first lady with so much style!

New Orleans JazzFest lineup announced!

I lived in New Orleans for 4 years and I always looked forward to Jazz Fest every spring. Last year I made the trip back down to N'awlins and decided I would try to make it every year for this great festival. Spending time in New Orleans during JazzFest is really the quintessential New Orleans experience. Today they announced the music lineup for this year, with notable headliners like Arcade Fire, Wilco, Lauryn Hill, Robert Plant, Michael Franti and the Spearheads, and John Legend and The Roots. Let's not forget about the regulars who frequent the festival almost every year like, Galactic, Rebirth Brass Band, Allen Toussaint, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue and Kermit Ruffins & The Barbecue Swingers. Don't forget to check out late night shows at some of New Orleans greatest music venues like One Eyed Jack's, Tipitinas, Howlin' Wolf, and House of Blues. If there's one music festival not to miss this year, it's the New Orleans Jazz Festival.

Loving these necklaces.

I just discovered this jewelry line wsake and I really love some of their pieces. The line is designed by a father and daughter team which I think is really amazing too. My favorite is the boy+girl silhouette necklace, precious.

Golden Globes Best Dressed

Angelina Jolie

After the brutal Patriots loss on Sunday, the only things that could cheer me up was seeing some of the beautiful dresses on the red carpet at the Golden Globe Awards. I loved the soft peachy, pink colors that wore worn by Natalie Portman and Emma Stone, as well as some of the more jewel toned dresses like the beautiful emerald green that Angelina Jolie and Mila Kunis wore. From the gorgeous feminine detailing on some dresses to the sparkly, glamorous sequins on others, I was very impressed. I also love how we saw so many backless dresses. I love the look of backless dresses and I think they are extremely sexy without being too over the top. Sadly, it seems to me that alot of women are afraid to do backless or when they see backless they think "how am I supposed to wear a bra?" But I say, go for it! Sexy, classy, glamorous. Here are some of my favorites!
