Golden Globes Best Dressed

Angelina Jolie

After the brutal Patriots loss on Sunday, the only things that could cheer me up was seeing some of the beautiful dresses on the red carpet at the Golden Globe Awards. I loved the soft peachy, pink colors that wore worn by Natalie Portman and Emma Stone, as well as some of the more jewel toned dresses like the beautiful emerald green that Angelina Jolie and Mila Kunis wore. From the gorgeous feminine detailing on some dresses to the sparkly, glamorous sequins on others, I was very impressed. I also love how we saw so many backless dresses. I love the look of backless dresses and I think they are extremely sexy without being too over the top. Sadly, it seems to me that alot of women are afraid to do backless or when they see backless they think "how am I supposed to wear a bra?" But I say, go for it! Sexy, classy, glamorous. Here are some of my favorites!

My New Year's Countdown!

I started 2011 in NYC at Madison Square garden with Phish. I managed to take a very shaky video of the countdown. Lots and lots of balloons filled the garden. Such a fun way to kick off the New Year. Enjoy!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! peace, love, and happiness.

Inspired by newbrahmin.com, I decided to make some personal and professional new year's resolutions. For Flock, we are really hoping to launch e-commerce on our website. We're very excited to bring Flock to people who don't live in the Boston area. As for my personal resolution, BLOG! I want to read more, write more, and discover more. So, Happy New Year, hope everyone finds peace, love, and happiness.

The newest issue of the Improper Bostonian is here, and I am so happy to see some of Flock's pieces featured in the fashion section. Stylist Noria Morales always does such a great job, and I especially love this feature with fall in the air.

off to market in NYC with mom!

It's that time of year again, market week!! I am so excited to head down to NYC with my mom to shop for Spring/Summer 2011. It's always such a treat to go to the shows and see what's in store for next season. We will be attending 3 shows in 2 days, which means lots and lots to see. First we head to D&A which is personally my favorite show. This sho
w takes place in the Chelsea Art Museum and has more of the smaller designers and showrooms, always a good place to find new up and coming designers (Stewart + Brown, Alkemie, AK Vintage). Next stop is Capsule which is a show I have not yet been too, but I found a really great mother/daughters designed line that I've been dying to check out (Family Affairs) and they will be there. Last stop, COTERIE! For anyone who has ever been to market week, you know that Coterie is the biggest show in town during market week. Taking place at the Javits down on the piers, this show is HUGE. I can't even guess how many vendors will be there but we have our favorites that we meet with (Corey Lynn Calter, Joie, Lauren Moffatt, etc.) so we try hard to stay on track. So much fun and truly the ultimate shopping experience with my mom. Stay tuned for sneak peaks at some of our spring/summer 2011 favorites.

A cozy sweater for a rainy day

My good friend Jessica Sutton ( who has an amazing blog that you should check out!) is on the search for a cozy, fall sweater, but the key ingredient is off the shoulder. I couldn't help but start doing some online searching for her. A cold, rainy day calls for such a staple piece. I found this one on urbanoutfitters.com. I might just have to get one for myself.

Happy weekend. xx Dani
